ABOUT AMANZIMTOTI, SOUTH AFRICA: Amanzimtoti is a small coastal town in KwaZulu Natal, just south of Durban. The name originates from a remark made by the Zulu King Shaka, when he led his army down the south coast to rest on the banks of the local river. When drinking the water, he exclaimed "Kanti amanzi mtoti", meaning "So, the water is sweet". KING SHAKA DID NOT FIND THE WATER SWEET AS IN SUGARY BUT MEANT IT WAS NICE TASTY OR PLEASANT. HOWEVER, HE COULD NOT USE THE NAME FOR TASTY BEING "MNANDI" AS HIS MOTHER'S NAME WAS "NANDI" AND HE WAS, BY CUSTOM, FORBIDDEN TO EVEN PHONETICALLY PRONOUNCE HIS PARENT'S NAME.
