A short walk to the Waterstone shopping Centre or the Lord Charles Hotel and Conference Centre will take about 10 minutes. If you don't want to do this you could take a walk around the neighbourhood and look at some of the beaautiful gardens and listen to the birdlife, see the wild ducks and the guinea fowl on the open park or watch the golfers from the other side of the fence enjoying a round of golf. If you want to take a drive to the beach it is only 7km away and you can sit and look at the lovely scenery, take a walk,eat an ice-cream and enjoy the fresh smell of the sea air. On a Saturday morning in the Summer time you can go to the famous Somerset West Craft Market where folk come from all over the Cape Town area to sell their goods. This market has a very high standard and is very popular. If you enjoy the Theatre there is always something good on and is always enjoyed by all. Also close by are some Wine Tasting Farms and fantastic Restaurants. You can spoil yourself soaking up and relaxing in the South African Summer sun. For those who want to go on a shopping spree there is also Somerset Mall (one of the biggest in the Cape Town area) only 4km from 40 Winks so you can "shop till you drop" or you can go shark cage diving, wind surfing or whale watching.

As you approach Somerset West you will see a sign indicating the turn off the the R44 Broadway Boulevard / Stellenbosch. (EXIT 43). Take the off ramp. At the traffic lights turn left and carry on to the next set of traffic lights keeping in the extreme right hand lane. At this main intersection turn right into MAIN ROAD. Carry on over the next 2 sets of traffic lights and shortly after (approx 800 meters)you will see a sign M9E (UPPER ORANGE STREET) Turn right into it and as soon as up come out of the bed turn right again into QUINAN ROAD. Drive down to the STOP and go down another two streets and you will find 40 WINKS ACCOMMODATION.
