Black Leopard Camp is more than just a bush getaway; it’s an active attempt to conserve and protect the threatened leopards of northern Mpumalanga. Working with the Ingwe Leopard Project, it monitors the free-roaming leopards that traverse its lands, giving visitors the opportunity to participate in these worthwhile experiences.
Our guests are ensured of personal attention at all times and experience what larger more commercial private game lodges offer, without having to put up with the “land rover hordes” that guests at larger concerns experience, and most importantly at a much more affordable rate !
Delicious bush cuisine, fireside fare, and personal service at all times. Birding with a professional experienced guide – offering close to 300 species of birds. Exciting game drives tracking the leopards through the valley bushveld and mountain protea veld. Explore through the archeological ruins and artifacts from ancient indigenous peoples, wandering traders as well as early settlers. Relax on the deck of your tent or at the pool, with your feet up, hidden away in this haven of peace and tranquillity.
There is always a friendly face to welcome you to the bar lounge, and a fire for chilly days. In the evenings, with a canopy of stars above and goosebump views, enjoy a sundowner out in the bush or around the fire on the deck at camp. After a sumptious dinner, and night cap, retire to your luxury tent and kingsize beds, from where you may be lucky to hear the call of the Leopard reverberate through the cliffs surrounding the camp.
We are the only Luxury Tented Camp that offers FAMILY UNITS, luxuriously spacious tents, that sleep 5 people. They consist of 2 tents on a deck with bathrooms en suite and an outside "bush bathroom".
