Think mountains falling down to the sea, a village along the edge, cobbled streets, historic cottages, arty shops and a fishing harbour. That's Kalk Bay. Park your car and forget about it till you leave. Everything is walking distance from tidal pool to restaurants, night life, fishing harbour with its fabulous restaurants overlooking the sea, to local grocery shop, the start of mountain walks, a theater restaurant, sand beach. Of course if you want to wander further afield, then a drive will take you through the most beautiful scenic route all the way to Cape Point.

After about 20km, turn left into the M3 south towards Muizenberg. Follow the M3 until the T junction with the M42, turn left, after a short distance, then right/south onto the M4 (Main Road) through Muizenberg. Kalk Bay is a few kilometers south of Muizenberg. Park as near as possible to the robots in the centre of the village. By train from Cape Town MetroRail operates frequent and regular trains to Kalk Bay from Cape Town via Muizenberg (to the north) and Simon's Town via Fish Hoek (to the south) every day. The station in Kalk Bay is on Main Road, right in the centre of the village and Casa Luna is on the opposite side of the road. |
