Overnight accommodation in our elegant historic Cape Georgian Homestead halfway between Cape Town and Johannesburg
Historic Coniston House was built in 1835 by Thomas Plewman, an 1820 settler and has remained in the family to this day. It is one of the very few genuine Cape Georgian double storey houses in the country.
Furnished with antiques and family heirlooms.
English breakfasts, served in front of a blazing wood fire in winter.
Comfortable en-suite bedrooms and secure lock up parking.
Coniston House was the venue for a meeting between President Paul Kruger of the Transvaal Republic and the British Government in 1894. It was also used as a hospital by the Boer forces during their occupation of the district during the Anglo-Boer War.
Coniston Guest House has been awarded "Highly Recommended" status by AA
