Flamingo Lodge

Flamingo Lodge is a 4 Star establishment situated in the heart of Umhlanga Rocks and is closest of all the Guest Lodges (200 Meters) to the main bathing beach and the Beach Front Promenade.

The Promenade is ideal for those people who like to walk or jog and is about 4 kilometers long, with spectacular scenery, open air restaurants and the occasional sighting of dolphins or whales.

Park your vehicle in our safe car park and you are within a 2 minute walk to the beaches and to the various first class restaurants and shopping facilities that the Village has to offer.

The Lodge is an ambassador for the famous Ushaka marine world in Durban which includes Ushaka Sea World and Ushaka Wet n Wild so our guests enjoy a 10 percent discount on the Entrance fees on presentation of our Vouchers

We have similar discount arrangements with several of the Village restaurants.

We have several world class golf resorts within a 10 kilometer drive. Dolphin viewing, Deep-Sea Diving and Fishing Safaris all start from “Grannies Pool” which is just in front of us on the beach.

The Drakensberg Mountains with its many resorts are about a 2 hour drive from Durban as are the many Game Parks that surround the St Lucia Wetlands.

We can organize all your tourist requirements or business needs through our Reception where the staff will do what they can to make your stay a memorable one.

Driving Directions:

Driving on the N2 from DBN airport or JHB side:

• Take the "GATEWAY/Mt Edgecombe/Phoenix/Umhlanga" M41 offramp.
• (You can SEE GATEWAY ahead on your right hand side.)
• Turn right at the robots into the M41.
• Travel about 300m and pass under the Millennium Bridge. (White steel shaped like a dome).
• Take the "Umhlanga" (Gateway only) M12 off ramp on the left.
• Turn left at robots on top of off-ramp & move immediately into middle lane.
• Pass McDonalds/Shell and go thru' the first traffic circle.
• Pass Umhlanga Hospital on your left, straight thru' the next traffic circle.
• Turn right at the roundabout just passed the hospital down toward the village
• Turn left at the 4th set of traffic lights into Lagoon Drive
• Turn sharp left immediately after the Cabana beach Hotel into Flamingo Lane
• We are number 15. Press the after hour button if after 6.00 P.M.

Using N2 from the North Coast (Richards Bay):

• Take the "Mt Edgecombe/Phoenix/Umhlanga" M41 Off ramp.
• Turn left at the robots.
• Travel about 300m and pass under the Millennium Bridge. (White steel shaped like a dome).
• Take the "Umhlanga" (Gateway only) M12 off ramp on the left.
• Turn left at robots on the top of off-ramp & then immediately into the middle lane.
• Continue straight through the first circle and turn right at the roundabout just passed the hospital down toward the village
• Turn left at the 4th set of traffic lights into Lagoon Drive
• Turn sharp left immediately after the Cabana beach Hotel into Flamingo Lane
• We are number 15. Press the after hour button if after 6.00 P.M.
