Fountain Place Guesthouse is housed in a National Monument, one of the oldest buildings in the village. Traditionally-built, thatched and whitewashed, it exudes warmth, friendship and history, whilst providing all the modern amenities. Its owners, Mark and Jane, have lovingly and tastefully decorated it with antiques, as well as comfortable beds and sofas. The two guest suites comprise a bedroom (with fireplace), a private lounge (with tea/coffee facilities and bar fridge) and a Victorian-style shower room. Each bedroom looks out onto the tranquil walled garden and each lounge has its own entrance onto the central vine-covered stoep. Breakfast is served on the stoep (weather permitting), which consists of either traditional English or Dutch-style Continental, both freshly cooked and prepared. Dietary requirements can also be catered for, by prior arrangement. The mature walled garden is home to a multitude of wildlife and there are many places to sit, relax and just listen to the sound of the fountains.

There are also two charming and self contained self catering cottages situated only 5 minutes walk from the Guesthouse -

Almond Cottage is a quaint and historic building, which has been the subject of considerable renovation and upgrading in 2010. This has made it bright and airy, with the modern amenities of a new fully equipped kitchen and bathroom, whilst retaining that traditional feel. Sleeping up to 4 (1 double and 2 singles), with an en suite shower and main full bathroom, together with its own built-in braai.

Plum Cottage has been built to fit in beautifully with its much older cousins and has also been renovated and upgraded in 2010, with a fabulous spacious kitchen and new built-in braai adjoining the very private stoep. Sleeping up to 5 people (1 double, 1 double sofa bed and 1 single day bed), with a main full bathroom.

Towels and bedlinen provided at both cottages.

Guests are welcome to make use of the braai/BBQ area, DSTV and our wireless internet facility.
