Hanlin Lodge

Modimolle means "the place of the spirits" named after the Modimollle Mountain visible from the N1 and every other entrance point to the town. The Modimolle is situated centrally in the Waterberg District.

Modimolle is an entry point to the world renowned Waterberg Biosphere Reserve from the north and South. The area boosts large tracts of land which are now operating as Game farms. Two Provincial Nature Reserves, the Doorndraai dam nature reserve, the Nylsvlei (a Ramsar site - special interest – inland wetland) and the Marakele National nature reserve (National) falls with in the Waterberg region. The Doorndraai and Donkerpoort dams offer an opportunity for family and recreation activities (water sports). The game farms and lodges in the area are popular getaways within an hour and a half’s drive from Pretoria in a Malaria free environment.
