Enjoy unpretentious hospitality in this meticulously restored, historical home which comprises the oldest cottage in Grahamstown (built in 1814) and was formerly home to District Surgeon Dr John Atherston as well as author, poet and playwright Professor Guy Butler. The Guest House boasts a yellow wood staircase and floors, original Oregon pine paneling, high ceilings and generous rooms graced with Cape antiques and original art. Accommodation is provided in five beautifully furnished bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom and, not forgetting modern comforts, heated towel rails, satellite television, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryers and digital safes. Our upstairs rooms are also air conditioned. Guests have use of the elegant lounge, vine-covered patio and swimming pool with secure off-street parking behind beautiful old stone walls.
