Expect the unexpected. Our lodge is in a Big 5 reserve and there is no fence between you and the wildlife, only two electric wires to discourage the elephants from entering the garden, but occasionally a determined one comes to visit. Hippos also sometimes come in to graze. At night enjoy the night sounds – varying between the haunting whoop of a hyena or jackals, a lion roaring, or the chuckling of hippos.

Three of the 5 chalets overlook a major animal path in front of the Olifants river. All chalets and tents are private and have their own verandah, where you may enjoy sundowners or an early morning cuppa while you observe the Bush awakening or settling for the night. There are several species of antelope which visit, some of which are resident and it is a bird watchers paradise.

Each chalet has a hairdryer, tea/coffee station, shower en-suite, ceiling fan and a Mini Bar fridge. We do fall in a Malaria area, but get VERY few mosquitos. All chalets are open plan with a double bed and a bunk bed, so are not suited to 2 couples sharing.

Two other chalets are equipped for Self-Catering with a fridge, hot plate, microwave, webber braai, cooking utensils and crockery for 4 people.

For the safari experience we have two luxury tents with a full bathroom en-suite, mini Bar, hairdryer, tea/coffee station.

The chalets have air-conditioning but not the tents, although they have plenty of ventilation and fans.

Spend time during the day relaxing by the swimming pool and in the evenings at the Pub.
