Hi Norma.
Your booking was unfortunately straight after the worst guests we have ever had and some of them stayed an extra night in the cottage.
I hope that you will visit us again and hopefully have a much better experience. Next time you can either have one extra night in the house for every two nights booked or I can try keep the cottage open so that there is no chance of you being disturbed.
I am very sorry, this was an awful experience for both of us.
My house and cats will take a while to recover, but I can make it up to you. Please let me.

I am so sorry that you had any thing less than an awesome experience at Lollee's Place. We don't often get bad reviews so it's a reality check when they do come in. I want you to know that I have no excuses, however I would love a chance to make it up to you. Next time you are in our area you can have the booking at 50% off. So stay a night and get one night free, stay a week and you can have a week on us. This offer is valid from now until 15th December 2020.
When you do book please remind me of who you are and what I have promised as you have already found out I am a terrible scatter minded, but I do personally want to make this up to you. You deserve nothing but the best I can offer.

Thank you very much for your report - our guests comfort and happiness are our primary concern so I do take all your comments very seriously.
You are the first to complain about the bed - I will remember to question all future guests and if it is a trend the bed will need to be replaced asap. I have no idea why the DStv did not work for you as it is working now - so I am sorry about that. To ensure our guests security and privacy our rooms are usually only serviced between guests - the outside areas including the braai are cleaned every Wednesday when my gardener comes. Had you told me you need a toaster - I would have provided one for you - there was no need to buy one yourself - I do tell guests when they arrive to please let me now if anything is missing - sometimes in the cleaning process kitchen utensils tend to migrate up to the main house.
I do agree - the gas bottle should be outside - I will see to that immediately.
I have never ever seen a fish moth in the cottage however I have fumigated just in case - but we have never had a pest problem.
I am sorry about the smell in the kitchen - it was no longer there when I went to clean up after you - so I have no idea what it could have been.
Thank you very much for taking the trouble to send this report - it is invaluable to me.
You will be pleased to now that the wires for the TV and DStv have been neatly placed in trunking - as soon as the painters are finished with the outside and we have a nice gap between guests - we plan to paint the inside and replace the curtains.
It was lovely to meet the two of you and I really really hope you next time you are in Gonubie we can live up to your expectations a bit better.

Thank you for posting this review - was lovely to meet you all and I really enjoyed listening to your children chatting away as they swam in the pool!
I am very sorry for the problem with the Wi-Fi - my IT guy was was trying to update it and complete his companies tax year end in the week you were here - you will find it is working fine next time you come. We do have Wi-Fi in the main house as well which was working and you were welcome to use.
I have tested the oven and it seems to be working fine - I will make a point of asking future guests if they have any problems - the stove was only bought in December so its still covered by its guarantee.
I trust you had a relaxing safe trip home and look forward to you all coming to stay next time you are in Gonubie!

Thank you for your review. Very often guests smile and say they had a good time when in actual fact some constructive criticism is always very welcome.
I was very sad when I first read this review - you are the only person to call the ramp "dreadful" and I am sorry there is not much I can do to make it less steep or close it off - but in my defence it is clearly shown on the photos - so you would have known about it before hand. I especially wanted a ramp as opposed to steps so that it would be safer for children and the elderly. So I was really sad to hear that you did not like it at all.
I have taken all your comments very seriously - the DStv is now on full package all year round. The broken towel rail and shower curtain have been replaced. The walls have been painted - the bath has a burn mark on the bottom - which is a bit difficult to remove - other than that it is always clean when guests arrive. I am constantly updating and replacing crockery and cutlery - as for the place being filthy - there is no way I can make up for that except to apologize and hopefully make sure other guests do not have a similar experience.
Since you were here we have updated the DStv decoder and replaced the TV with a new wall mounted one we have also replaced the stove with gas so that our guests are not as affected by the dreaded load shedding and I have replaced all those awful pine dining chairs with size sturdy more practical ones.

We still have a lot more to do - this month I am hoping to get the stairs leading to the deck replaced - I have a new mixer tap for the kitchen that just needs to be fitted and once that is done I am planning on building a pergola on the side overlooking the garden to provide shelter from the sun and rain so that the cottage can be cooler in the summer months and the windows and doors sheltered from rain.

Our daily rate is for the whole cottage and not per head which works out very economical for 6 adults and a child or two but can be costly for just a young couple and a baby.
I would like Lollee's Place to be the very best 3 Star Cottage that it can be - and I apologize once more that you did not experience it this way. If you are in the area again please pop in for a visit - Your honest appraisal is very much appreciated.

Thank you so much for your positive review - it was lovely meeting you and your family. Yes I agree we do have too many animals - 3 cats and 3 dogs!
The cats and two little dogs can be a problem for guests who do not enjoy animals - we have had guests before who are terrified of the cats which is a major problem because there is no way you can contain a cat! Only thing to do is to spray your deodorant at them - they hate that and will run away. But the little dogs especially Fudgie can be a real pain in the butt! Perhaps I should make a point of mentioning the animals to guests when submitting the quote? Most people enjoy the animals though - or at least they say they do. Some even bring there own pets with!

Thank you for your positive review - Its been a while since you visited our cottage and although I do not always reply to these reviews I do see them and take note of them. So I am going to address your suggestions one by one -
There is a wash line behind the braai perhaps some of the lines where damaged when you were here? But its been there all the time.
There is a stainless steel bin in the kitchen with a black bag in and there should always be a spare black bag in the draw next to the sink - so that is sorted.
As for the drying towels, I usually put two drying towels in the kitchen and one of those scourer sponges - these get disgusting dirty and its expensive to replace all the time so I don't use them in the cottage - perhaps I should think of putting some of those disposable wash cloths in there? Thank you for the idea.
The braai inner did rust badly and has been replaced. I purposely removed the garden tap because guests where washing their cars and having water fights. So sorry there will be no outside tap.
Your suggestion for a place to hang kitchen towels is a good one - I will see to that ASAP.
