Swellendam is also the host of a series of beautiful nature reserves including Bontebok National Park, Marloth Nature Reserve and De Hoop Nature Reserve. Swellendam is an half an hours drive from the beautiful wine lands of the Robertson region.
A day trip to the wine lands is definitely worth the while. Swellendam is also an hours drive from Cape Agulhas, the most southern point of Africa, and is definitely a must see for tourists.

Driving from Cape Town or George on the N2, take the R60 (Swellendam/Ashton) turn-off into Swellendam. Drive approximately 1km 'till you arrive at a 4-way STOP. Here you turn right into Voortrek Street. About 50m along you will find Old Mill Guest House and Restaurant on your left.
Driving on the N1 from Cape Town take the R62 turn-off at Worcester. Drive through Ashton, taking the R60 turn-off to your right just outside Ashton. When reaching Swellendam, turn left into Voortrek Street. About 50m along on your left you will find Old Mill Guest House & Restaurant.
