Calitzdorp is situated in the heart of the Klein Karoo on Route 62, in vertile valley surrendoud by spectacular mountain ranges. In the valley, fruit, grape and ostrich farming dominates. The mountains play host to some of the most spectacular mountain passes in South Africa, i.e. Swartberg, Meiringspoort, Seweweekspoort, Rooiberge, Huysrivier, etc.

Within walking distance from the Port Wine Guest House, guests will find the wineries, galleries, shops and the museum within walking distance. Historical houses in Karoo and Victorian architecture line the streets.

The Cango Caves and various ostrich show farms are in close proximaty with the oldest show farm just 19km out of town.

Driving Directions:
From Cape Town
- Leave Cape Town on the N1 and travel as far as Worcester, turning right onto the R62 (following the signs for the town of Robertson);
- Travel on the R62 through the towns of Robertson, Ashton, Montagu, Barrydale, Ladismith and Calitzdorp;
- On entering Calitzdorp, turn right into Van Riebeeck Street;
- At the bottom of Van Riebeeck Street, turn right into Queen Street, and
- The Port Wine Guest House is at the bottom of Queen Street, on your left. Parking can be accessed to the right of the Guest House.

From Oudtshoorn
- Leave Oudtshoorn via Route 62;
- Calitzdorp is 50km outside Oudtshoorn on Route 62;
- When entering Calitzdorp, travel down hill and turn left into Van Riebeeck Street at the Dutch Reformed Church;
- At the bottom of Van Riebeeck Street, turn right into Queen Street;
- The Port Wine Guest House is at the bottom of Queen Street, on your left. Parking can be accessed to the right of the Guest House.
