Rose Cottage

Montagu became famous in the early 1900's for its healing waters, therefore visit the Natural Mineral Springs, enjoy a historical walk through the village to see 26 national monuments in Long Street alone, visit the Montagu Museum (Old Mission Church) with its indigenous Medical Plant Project and the Joubert House with its small treasure trove of items.

Since about 1850, the Leidam hosts a large variety of indigenous birds. 18 species using at as a breeding ground and more than 52 visiting birds are identified. A newly build bird hide is a tourist friendly facility. Montagu is also known as the best climbing area in Western Cape. An Arts @ Crafts route is available at the information centre, and the famous market is every Saturday till noon.
