Settler Sands - Self-contained and self-catering holiday apartments on the Port Alfred beachfront adjacent to the Kowie River Mouth and West Beach. We have a selection of 2 or 3 bedroom units, most with sea or river views, open plan living, full bathroom/s, and guest cloakroom. We are a 3 Star graded establishment with the Tourism Grading Council. Port Alfred is situated halfway between PE and East London on the R72 coastal road. This is Sunshine Coast country.

Settler Sands units are individually owned and furnished. The majority of our units are 2 bedroom units. A 2 bedroom unit sleeps 4 – 5 people, with 2 people in the main bedroom, and either 2 or 3 people (2 single beds or 1 single bed and a bunk bed) in the 2nd bedroom. Both bedrooms and bathroom are situated upstairs. The open plan kitchen, dining & living area plus guest cloakroom is on the ground floor. Double doors open onto a paved patio in front. Most units have an enclosed back courtyard with wash line, cold water shower, and fresh water tank- piped to the kitchen. Each unit comes with a built in braai. One covered carport is provided per 2 bedroom unit.

We have two 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom units (Unit 34 and Unit 35), and a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom unit (Unit 82). Each sleeps 6 people. Unit 34 has a double bed in the main en suite bedroom (sleeps 2), and 2 x single beds in each of the other 2 bedrooms (sleeps 4). Unit 82 has double beds in two of the bedrooms and 2 x singles in the 3rd bedroom.

Please note the following important info to ensure you have a great stay:

1. DSTV is available in all units but only via the smartcard marriage system. PLEASE NOTE: Guests: please bring your own DSTV card to access DSTV. If you have the latest model DSTV decoder, you must bring both your decoder and card. Guests need to insert their card into our decoder and SMS the card number to 32443 to activate the service.

2. Linen is provided but we do NOT provide beach or bath towels; toiletries & soaps, and dish cloths & towels or washing up liquid. If your stay is for longer than 7 days, we will change your linen on the 7th day at an extra cost of R 100 per week or part thereof.
