The majestic Magaliesberg Mountains to the west offer good hiking, climbing and abseiling. The cottage is situated on the Magalies Meander so there are loads of interesting places to visit and things to do – to name but a few :- Sterkfontein Caves where the skull of Mrs. Ples was found; Maropeng a museum listing the evolution of man; Hot Air Ballooning, Horse riding, Micro lighting are all within a stone throw. Shop up a storm for African curios at the craft market situated near Hartebeestpoort Dam or visit the Snake Park, Aquarium, Monkey and Elephant Sanctuary. Go game viewing and see the big 5 in Pilanesburg, which is set in an extinct volcano, visit Sun City and try your luck in the casinos or just have a lazy day in the valley of waves.
