Description

Thonga Beach Lodge offers full-board accommodation and is nestled on the pristine coast of Northern KwaZulu-Natal, within the iSimangaliso World Heritage Park. The resort is the ideal place to explore the unspoilt, wilderness beaches, magical coastal forests, grasslands, shimmering lakes, exquisite sandy beaches and crystal clear, warm waters offering superb snorkelling and unspoilt off-shore scuba diving.

Accommodation comprises 12 suites and can accommodate up to 27 guests in total. Each unit features air-conditioning and an en-suite bathroom, and has been carefully constructed to ensure minimal impact on the environment, with maximum comfort. In addition, most of the suites contain an overhead fan, mosquito nets, a safe to store valuables, a mini-bar fridge, tea- and coffee-making facilities, and a balcony with forest or partial ocean views.

Breakfast and other mouth-watering cuisine are included and are served either al fresco on the deck or in the dining room. The well-stocked bar and lounge area, as well as the beach deck, offer an array of cocktails and beverages for guests to enjoy.

Thonga Beach Lodge has panoramic sea views and guests have access to a swimming pool designed for scuba-diving instruction. Alternatively, guests can enjoy romantic candlelight dinners on the beach and relaxing sea spa treatments.

For the more active individual, there are guided forest walks, kayaking on Lake Sibaya, as well as sundowners and cultural tours through the Tsonga community that can be arranged. From November to February, guests can witness the amazing sight of giant Leatherback and Loggerhead turtles struggling up the beach to lay their eggs. These magnificent creatures, having travelled the length of the African continent, return every year to the beach where they were hatched.
