Built in 1942 this sprawling gray stone manor house was home to many families over the years & holds a charm matched by none other on the reserve. Nestled alongside a 110 year old fig tree,Woodlands Lodge is comprised of five large en-suite double rooms & one family room all beautifully decorated in either a battlefield or big five theme. The lodge has a homely but very special feel about it that takes you back to the colonial days of Natal. Dinner is either a formal affair in the beautifully decorated dining room with battlefield portraits, memorabilia & candle lights or if you so wish, under the African stars & around a crackling Boma fire where the sound of lions can often be heard in the distance. The large open veranda has a seating area & breakfast table from where one can view countless birds as they glide in & out of the beautiful fenced in gardens of the lodge. For the more active guests, our newly resurfaced tennis court is just the thing & what better way to cool down after a game of tennis than to plunge into the sparkling pool & enjoy a cocktail on your lounger.
Full breakfast, light lunch or high tea & an exquisite 3 course dinner, Hot Beverages & mineral water, 2 x 3hr game drives per day
Snacks & a drink for sundowners or coffee break on game drives, Fully serviced.
NEW! Cheetah Interaction!
Come and meet our 3 cheetahs, Mikka, a Kalahari male and our two hand reared females nl: Shadow and Savanah, who were born on the Nambiti Big 5 Private Game Reserve, but unfortunately rejected by their mother. These two girls were then hand reared by The Endangered Wildlife Trust. Now back with us these cats are our ambassadors for educational encounters. Feeling their spotted coat under your and hearing their loud purr as you kneel next to these incredible animals is an experience never to be forgotten. On arrival at the Cheetah Project you will be given an informative talk regarding the cheetahs of the world and their plight as well as some interesting facts about these cats. After your talk, you will be taken into the enclosures where you get up close and very personal with Shadow & Savannah. You will have the opportunity to touch, brush and pamper the girls. The Le Sueur Cheetah Project’s long term goal will be to breed with them so as to reintroduce their offspring back them so as to reintroduce their offspring back into the African wild to help re-populate the dwindling numbers of these highly endangered species.
