It is not well known by tourists and is extremely popular with locals, especially those who have small children, because the swimming conditions are very safe.
Bakoven's wind protected little beaches makes it a popular film destination and celebrities are often seen here. There is an agreement amongst the locals that they are never disturbed. Parking for non residents has been kept to an absolute minimum ensuring that these idyllic coves are never crowded
