Dullstroom, along the Underberg, is one of the coldest towns in South Africa, but it is better known as one of South Africa's premier fly-fishing destinations. The town features the highest railway station in South Africa at 2077m above sea level as well as the highest point in the Mpumalanga province at 2332m high.
Dullstroom was established in 1883 by Dutch settlers including Wolterus Dull. Many of these Dutch immigrants returned to the Netherlands during the Second Anglo-Boer War, when much of the town was destroyed.
