Palaborwa lies halfway up the length of the Kruger National Park in the Mopani district of the Limpopo province with a population of 133,000 people. Over the years Palaborwa has progressed from a mining town into a tourist town centered on a connection to nature and wildlife, empahsised by the fact that this is South Africa's only town to border on the Kruger National Park.
Palaborwa lies within the Valley of the Olifants (Elephants) in the Lowveld, only a two hour drive away from Mozambique. This region maintains the highest winter temperatures in South Africa. Winter temperatures range from 10 to 25 degrees Celsius and rainfall here is low. Summers are mild to hot with temperatures from 20 to 35 degrees Celsius.
