Cape Town accommodation. In 1997 the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company upgraded Table Mountain's old cableway with more modern facilities. The newer Swiss-built cable cars can carry 65 passengers at a time and have a 360 degree view. The experience is completed by rotating floors that ensure you don't miss any aspect of the breathtaking view, as the trip to the top only lasts 6 minutes.
When to go
The service is available all year round and operates between 08:00 and 22:00 in summer and 08:30 and 18:00 in winter. Occasionally, weather may not permit operation (e.g. if winds exceed 80kph), but this doesn't happen too often in Cape Town.
The best time to ascend is probably after 18:00 during summer as, not only are tickets often half-price and the temperature slightly cooler, but the summer sunset as the light changes over the land looks simply astounding.

Facilities
All facilities have been upgraded in recent years, so queues tend to be short, and there are good restaurants and souvenir shops at the top and bottom stations.

The lower station is accessible by car or taxi from Kloof Nek. Reservations are not accepted.
In addition to attraction guides TravelGround also has a wide selection of
