Welcome to the Donkin Reserve attraction page - in addition to guides like this article we also list a great selection of hotels, B&B's, guesthouses and self-catering establishments. Please take a look at our Port Elizabeth page if you're looking for
Port Elizabeth accommodation. Next to Donkin Street is the Donkin Reserve - a park that sits atop a hill in the centre of Port Elizabeth.
The reserve has been a national monument since 1938 and houses local attractions including the Donkin Lighthouse and the Donkin Memorial.
The Donkin Memorial is a pyramid shaped stone structure built in 1820 by the Cape Governor at the time: Sir Rufane Donkin. In fact, it was this same wife whose name is born by 'Port Elizabeth'.
We also offer a excellent selection of
South Africa accommodation - let us know where you would like to visit!
