Hout Bay - Duiker Island - Cap
Welcome to the Duiker Island information page - in addition to guides like this article we also list a wide selection of hotels, B&B's, guesthouses and self-catering establishments. Please take a look at our Cape Town page if you're looking for
Cape Town accommodation. There are many boat trips from the nearby Hout Bay Harbour to Duiker Island. In summer Duiker Island is inundated with over 6000 Cape fur seals and a wide variety of seabirds, including the uncommon Bank Cormorants.
Cape fur seals are common throughout the Cape Peninsula. In fact, they are so numerous that local fisherman claim that they are compromising the Cape Town's fish reserves. The culling of seals has raised much controversy.
Looking for more than just information? We also list a perfect range of
South Africa accommodation on our website. Let us know where you would like to go!
