Katse Dam is the second largest dam in Africa, located on the Malibamat’so River in the Kingdom of Lesotho. It is an extremely efficient storage dam due to its great depth and small surface area which reduces the chance of evaporation. It also receives plenty of water from summer rains and winter snow.

A trip to the Katse Dam in Lesotho is definitely not to be missed. It offers beautiful scenery any time of the year, and snow on the mountains during winter. Tours of the dam wall are available.
