Welcome to the Laborie attraction page - in addition to guides like this article we also list a great range of hotels, B&B's, guesthouses and self-catering establishments. Please take a look at our Paarl page if you're looking for Paarl accommodation. Laborie Estate was founded by a Huegenot settler in 1688, but was later transformed into a typical Cape-Dutch farm. Today it has been lovingly restored by KWV after they acquired it in 1971. Laborie is the perfect place to stop for lunch if you are exploring the Paarl winelands or central Paarl itself. The name, Laborie, originates from the La Bri district of France.

The spacious and stylish Laborie Restaurant and terrace is situated on the wine estate, and offers a relaxed atmosphere with an informal and laid back dining experience. Lunches are served between 10h30 and 17h00 and the Gourmet Dinner Menu, comprising of four courses, is available later in the evening. The restaurant is also available for weddings and functions and can accommodate up to 120 people.

Close to 20% of South Africa's annual wine production originates from the Paarl region and many of the estates in the region offer frequent tastings, tours and sales (although some are by arrangement only). Stops on the Paarl winelands tour include such well known brands as Avondale, Fairview Farm, Nederburg, Rhebokskloof Farm and Rupert and Rothschild Vignerons. Many of these splendid estates have distant views of either Table Mountain or the Du Toits Kloof mountains (depending on whether they are on the west or east facing). While these estates are not quite as frequented as those on the Stellenbosch wine route, such as the Spier Estate, they are equally as charming and the wines are amongst the best in the Cape.

Looking for more than just information? We also list a broad range of South Africa accommodation on our website. Let us know where you would like to go!
