Oudtshoorn accommodation. The Le Roux Townhouse is a demonstration of how life would have been as an ostrich feather baron of the early 1900s. Ostrich feathers were popular and expensive accessories in Victorian and Edwardian Europe and at the time Oudsthoorn was well known for the local mansion maintained by farmers in the ostrich industry, but as War broke out and fashions changed, ostrich farming became a more modest industry.
The townhouse includes pieces of Cape silver, valuable porcelain and authentic period furniture.
