Pilgrim's Rest accommodation. The Old Print House in Pilgrim's Rest is typical of buildings in this old gold mining town. A simple wooden structure is clad in corrugated iron. These building were built simply to 'make do', because everyone here expected that the gold couldn't last long, but it kept the town busy for 100 years!
Staying current with the news was as important then as it is now, and as soon as a community emerged, printers were there to sell newspapers.
