George accommodation. The Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe tour starts in George, the Garden Route's most populated centre, and chugs all the way to Mossel Bay. Enjoy bridge crossings on the Malgate and Gwaiing Rivers, the farmlands outside George with the Outeniqua Mountains in the background and then that amazing vista over Glentana and the Indian Ocean.Through a tunnel and out again to a sweeping view all the way across Mossel Bay to the Cape St Blaize Lighthouse.
Across the Great and Little River Lagoons, through a fynbos reserve and past Hartenbos.
Pass Mossel Bay's Langeberg Mall and enjoy the final run into town with steam billowing and whistle blowing as you roll to a gentle stop at the Dias Museum Station.
The train runs from Monday to Saturday (September - March) and on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays (April to August), leaving George at 10h00 and arriving in Mossel Bay at midday. The train leaves back for George at 14h15, arriving at 16h35.
