Cape Town accommodation. St George's Anglican Cathedral was often at the centre of the struggle against apartheid. Nobel Laureate Desmond Tutu's powerful voice filled this cathedral after he became archbishop in 1986. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1994 for his tireless struggle against the apartheid regime, and later served as the chairman of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. Today beautiful choral music can be heard here as well as sermons from the Anglican Archbishops who try to fill Archbishop Tutu's large shoes.
