Cape Town accommodation. Saint James Beach, on the east coast of the Cape Peninsula, has a sheltered tidal pool for safe and warm swimming. Beaches in the east tend to catch the prevailing southeaster wind of the Cape, but the water is typically 5 degrees warmer than waters on the other side of the Cape Peninsula – typically reaching 23 degrees Celsius in summer. This beach is famous for its colourful beach huts that run along the back of the beach.
