The St Lucia Crocodile Centre is home to a variety of species from all corners of the globe, including great Nile crocodiles, dwarf crocodiles, long snouted alligators and other reptiles. As well as displaying these animals, the center provides extensive information about breeding, distribution, habitat and even evolution.
The center exhibits dioramas which paint a comprehensive picture of the ecosystem of the nearby Lake St Lucia. The exhibit demonstrates the delicate relationship between animals and their surroundings, and illustrates man's potentially destructive power.
On the humanitarian side of things, the center often assists in capturing problematic crocodiles from Lake St Lucia and relocating them to safer places away from human interference. This is a place where Crocodiles are respected and protected.
