Pretoria accommodation. The Union Buildings were built to house the administrative offices of the Union of South Africa in 1910. Baker (designer) himself chose the imposing hill site form where the two large office wings overlook landscaped gardens and an impressive amphitheater. Although the building is not open to the public for reasons of security, the impressive Renaissance building with its Cape Dutch and Italian influences may be admired from the peaceful gardens.
