Durban accommodation. The aquarium at uShaka Marine World in Durban is best known for its incredible shows of performing dolphins, seals and penguins. There is also the well know Sea World aquarium which has a part of a cargo ship sunk into it to create an impressive 'lost world' effect. uShaka Marine World is perfect for families with children and offers a pretty all encompassing experience - with tours, snorkelling in the various tanks and some excellent restaurants.
Things to do at uShaka Marine World
There are quite a few attractions at the Marine World. First are the renowed dolphin shows - regularly performed to large crowds. The star of the show is a highly talented dolphin called Gambit who performs a variety of stunts. There is also a penguin rookery and seal stadium.
The Sea World aquarium is built within the remains of a large cargo ship and offers some exciting vistas of fish, sharks, rays and other exotic sea-life. There are behind the scenes tours available and the more adventurous can sign up to go on a snorkelling trip through parts of the aquarium.
There are also restaurants at uShaka Marine World - for both the more culinary or family inclined.
