The wanderlust-inducing #Stellenblog campaign commanded the social media spotlight for several days leading up to INDABA 2014, with some of the most influential international and local travel and lifestyle bloggers uncovering and digitally sharing the best of what the Stellenbosch wine tourism region has to offer.

#Stellenblog was brilliantly conceptualized and coordinated by Destinate in association with iambassador, a global association of the top travel bloggers in the world, and Stellenbosch Wine Routes. International bloggers included Keith Jenkins from Velvet Escape, Matt Long from Landlopers, Niamh Shields from Eat Like a Girl, and Norman Röhlig from I-REF. Natalie Roos from Tails of a Mermaid was the carefully selected local travel and lifestyle blogger, while Ilse van der Merwe from The Food Fox played hostess, and popular South African lifestyle and wedding blog, The Pretty Blog, supported the initiative.

The bloggers’ whirlwind tour began the Overberg (follow the hashtag #VisitOverberg) with a boat trip and flower safari at Grootbos Private Nature Reserve before officially kicking off with an #instawalk through the historic oak-lined streets of Stellenbosch. When the team wasn’t indulging in food and wine tastings at premier wine estates such as Dornier, Tokara, and Waterkloof, they were spotted zipping around on the Spier segways, experiencing Kayamadni township, petting cheetahs, and so much more!

Judging by the amount of travel-inspiring tweets, Facebook posts, and Instagrams, the experiential #Stellenblog campaign was a huge success and proved that there’s more to love about Stellenbosch that its wine. We highly anticipate #Stellenblog 2015.
