"Cherry Festival on the Saturday was a ' nightmare'. Arrived at 18.00 expecting to sit and have a good time listening to the music etc. but the stalls in the main tent were already packing down and the upstairs music tent also was getting ready to close early. Taking in the crowds I can ' sort of ' understand. and the litter! Must admit looked at the grounds driving past on our way home on Sunday and the litter had been cleared up. Also as pensioners we arrived at 18.00 pm and we were still charged to enter and I feel we should have been advised that the festival was 'gearing' to shut down. Will not go to the Cherry festival on a Saturday (last day of festival) again. Also the main town streets on Saturday night were definitely something to be desired. Youngsters really going crazy. Friday at the Cherry festival was good. Ficksburg really seems to have a lot of history to be enjoyed but not on a Saturday."
"Ficksburg seems to have lots to see, but we were really just passing through, but will be back for a longer stay. Blikkies Plek was right next door to where we stayed, but there again we had a long way to travel to our next destination. Constantia Cherry Farm Stall driving in from the Eastern Cape side is an interesting shop, and a great place to dine. "
