"A scenic and productive agricultural valley with the Oliphants River flowing through it, good for purchasing seasonal fruit and vegetables at the roadsides (oranges, grapes, sweet potatoes, cabbage, avos, litchis). The Wagendrift Road between Groblersdal and Loskop Dam (the stretch after the turnoff to Loskop Dam) has reached shockingly bad proportions and is so riddled with deep potholes that it is seriously advisable to drive slowly on the sand shoulder than on what's left of the tar road. The dam itself is magnificent as is the mountain pass and the rugged, rocky kranses and gorges that the road winds through, direction Middleburg. Well worth a trip."
