Description

55 on Manor is a pet-friendly, self-catering cottage located on the host’s property, situated in a tranquil cul de sac in the beautiful seaside village of Umzumbe. The area is surrounded by coastal bush, and guests will sometimes sight monkeys, buck and bird life from the cottage deck.

This cottage has its own private entrance and private parking for 2 cars, and comprises 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The first bedroom is furnished with a double bed, and the second room has twin beds. The bathroom has a shower and bath towels are provided. There is an outside shower for rinsing off from the beach.

The well-equipped kitchen contains a fridge, a stove, a microwave, a toaster, a kettle, utensils, crockery and cutlery. The living room has comfortable sofas, a TV with basic selected DStv channels and a 4-seater dining area. The front deck overlooks the garden and surrounding bush, and there is a paved area at the back with a braai facility and sitting area, which catches the afternoon sunsets.

Small to medium-sized, well-behaved and socialized dogs will be allowed, as the hosts have 3 of their own, on the premises. 55 on Manor is ideally situated 5 minutes from the Umzumbe Blue Flag Beach, which is great for surfing, fishing or just suntanning. There is a tidal pool, which is perfect for small kids as well.

For the adventurous, the Oribi Gorge Nature Reserve is located approximately 48 km away, where guests can go for a hike to the waterfall or enjoy the Wild 5 Gorge Swing and Lake Eland Zipline. If you are into scuba diving, the area has some of the best diving spots the KZN coast, and you can drive to Aliwal Shoal off Umkomaas and Protea Banks off Shelly Beach.

Guests can also join a yoga class at the Mantis and Moon Yoga Studio, located a walk down the road. For golfers, the Port Shepstone Country Club is approximately 1,7km, with Southbroom and Selborne courses a short drive away as well.
