Worlds away an hour and a half from home.

What a lovely environment, the wine maker's cottage at AA Badenhorst Family Wines was clean and comfy, perfect for lazing in the hammocks, soaking in the hot tub, and freshening up in the pool. We enjoyed lovely evenings overlooking the beautiful scenery and savoring wine while braaing. A lovely peaceful break not far from home.

Beautiful relaxation in a beautiful place.

And, unfortunately, we did not have the opportunity to have a meal there, or the wine tasting in the cellar (because of Covid)! I suppose that gives us an excuse to go back again!

Unique and relaxing farm experience with generous service.

The attention to detail at AA Badenhorst is incredible and the touches of luxury among the rustic items are exactly where they should be – a massive bed, exquisite linen and towels, lovely bathroom amenities, individually wrapped firelighters in addition to piles of firewood and a well-stocked kitchen with more than you’d ever need. The owners are so hospitable and make you feel welcome. Highly recommend the staff lunch, cellar tour and ordering plenty of their wine, Caperitif and tonic. The freshly-baked farm loaf on arrival is one of the best I’ve had and we also appreciated the recycling and composting facilities. Honestly the only two letdowns were the long life milk in the fridge and that we felt like the chicken and duck poop on the patio could probably be cleaned a little more often. We will definitely be returning.
