Addo Gateway Lodge is guest house, ideally situated close to all major game parks, in a small village called Cannonville, nestled along the banks of the beautiful Sundays River in the Colchester/Addo South area. It is the ideal stop-over for anyone who would like to visit the park and other game reserves in the vicinity.
Accommodation is offered on either a bed and breakfast basis or self-catering basis. All rooms have their own en-suite bathrooms, fitted with a shower and toilet, and own entrance. In-room amenities include a TV, fan, heater, fridge, microwave, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. A fully equipped wheelchair accessible double room is also available.
We also offer a lovely cottage behind the lodge with upmarket facilities. This is fully equipped with 2 bedrooms, full bathroom, lounge, kitchenette, undercover braai and private parking. The main bedroom has a queen-size and single bed and the second bedroom a double bed. The cottage can sleep from 3 to 5 guests comfortably.
The guest house has a fully equipped kitchen for self-catering purposes, with an indoor braai in the thatched lapa, a lounge, dining room as well as an outside braai area. This area leads out onto a large open deck, overlooking the river and magnificent dunes across the road, where guests can wind down and enjoy a glass of wine while enjoying the tranquility of this open space.
Enjoy a wonderful cruise on The Sundays River Ferry which is wheelchair accessible and a great attribute for disabled people to experience the majestic Sundays River, the world-renowned Alexandria/Colchester dune fields, and views of the river mouth and sea. Enjoy a scenic cruise or a sand dune cruise, with or without sand sledding.
Come and enjoy the most magnificent views of the Colchester/Alexandria dune fields which is the second largest coastal dune field in the world and the largest in the Southern Hemisphere. Explore the abundant birdlife along the estuary which at the last count was about 250 different species. The river also boasts a big variety of fish and kabeljou.
Addo Gateway Lodge is just off the N2, 35 km east of Port Elizabeth and 4 km from the new South Entrance, called Camp Matyholweni, to the Addo Elephant National Park.
