Alpha Excelsior Guest Farm offers self-catering and caravan accommodation, and is located on a working farm situated on the edge of the Cederberg Wilderness area, in the heart of the Rocklands Valley. The area is just over the Pakhuis Pass in a secluded, undeveloped area of picturesque natural beauty, near Clanwilliam in the Western Cape.

The self-catering accommodation on the farm consists of 5 options: there are 2 delightful secluded cottages named Riverside and Weavers, both cottages are equipped with air-conditioning, and perfect for a romantic getaway; The Cape Dutch Homestead and the Old Farm House are great for larger groups; The Donkey Camp has 7 well-equipped retro caravans and a communal lapa area named the Leopard Lapa, and is great for those on a tighter budget.

All guests have access to the farm dam for swimming and kayaking, and there are braai facilities as well. Guests who book the cottages, have exclusive use of the sparkling swimming pool. There is a pool table in the Leopard Lapa at the Donkey Camp, please enquire at reception about deposit for the pool cues and balls.

There is a fully off-grid facility where guests have access to Wi-Fi 24 hours a day.

Alpha Excelsior is the perfect place to use as a base to explore the wonders of the northern Cederberg. There is easy access to several hiking trails; various rock art sites and world-famous bouldering, as well as wine and olive oil tasting at the Rugged Rocks winery on the farm.

The region is famous for the annual display of wild flowers, the biggest concentration of Khoisan Rock Art paintings in Southern Africa, and ruggedly beautiful landscapes and unique rock formations created by the erosion of sandstone, supporting a vast diversity of flora and fauna species.

The surrounding mountains are world-renowned for rock climbing and bouldering opportunities.
