Lovely comfortable house with all the amenities.

The house is very comfortable and lovely decorated. The big patio overlooking the river is perfect for gathering everyone and the Jacuzzi and boma are a bonus. The fireplace is well stocked every day and ideal in winter. The beds and bedding are of high standard and quality. Would definitely come again.

Ambleside is beautiful and a great place to rewind and enjoy the company of friends and family, but while I knew Ambleside is a working meat farm, I didn't expect the smell of the abattoir to waft down to the cottage, it made it very unpleasant, especially while trying to enjoy a meal on the beautiful deck. Hi Claire, Thank you for your review, you probably would have been smelling the compost that we make on the farm, definitely not from the Abattoir! As this is over a km away, we try to keep things as organic as possible, so we utilise the waist from the farm with garden waste to make our own compost, we need to turn this from time to time ,
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We can definitely guarantee the air will be a lot cleaner and less pollution than city air! Even if it is a bit smelly from time to time.

Covid Escape.

Beautiful and private, huge cottage on a a farm. The loft area with its own balcony was thoroughly enjoyed by our adult children. Spectacular scenery, big patio to soak up the winter sun, having a coffee staring at the river and the cattle, horses in the pasture. Heated blankets and indoor fireplace makes for cosy nights. The huge outdoor fireplace in the yard with seating was quite an experience. 2 nights was too little for us to enjoy all Ambleside had to offer. We will surely return.
