Description
Areena Riverside Resort is situated on the banks of the Kwelera tidal river, 23 km east of East London city centre, at the beginning of the Cape Wild Coast. The resort is the hideout for those wanting to experience quality family time in the heart of nature. Wildlife, birds, and surrounding wild coast vegetation where cruises to the river mouth and beach can be arranged.
The accommodation comprises self-catering accommodation where you can wake up to the call of the Fish Eagles. Choose from a variety of luxury fully equipped self-catering family cottages, rondavels, timber chalets, and double en-suite units. All our units are fully equipped for self-catering with linen and towels provided. The various units can sleep from two persons up to six persons per unit. Our five timber chalets are situated on the banks of the river and offer you unsurpassed views of the river from timber chalets and riverfront campsites.
On-site guests can fish from your tent on riverfront sites, and park your boat along the jetty directly in front of you. Areena Quays Restaurant and Bar are right on the riverfront for your dining pleasure. Open from Wednesday - Friday 11:00 - 20:00, Saturday from 09:00 and on Sundays, it closes after a delicious buffet lunch.
At an extra cost, our adventure village offers quad bike safari tours, canoe trails, pellet gun target shooting, zip-lining, paintball, archery, and Segway safari tours. You may even get to have a giraffe interaction with our tame giraffe, Abby, who is famous the world over.
Access to the beach is either by boat, river ferry, or a short trip by car.
