The iconic Knysna Lagoon forms the centrepiece of our small coastal town, one of the jewels of the beautiful Garden Route. Bamboo is within easy reach of the famous Knysna Heads, Leisure Isle and Bollard Beach, Thesen Island, The Waterfront and Featherbed Nature Reserve. The Lagoon is a paradise for water sport enthusiasts - activities include fishing, skiing, windsurfing, kayaking, sailing, snorkelling and boat cruises.

Knysna is a treasure trove for both shoppers and diners, from upmarket eateries and fashion stores to relaxed open air market stalls. Oysters are strongly associated with Knysna and are available at many outlets.

The surrounding forests and mountains are a haven for cyclists, hikers, trailists and birdwatchers. Three top class golf courses are situated in Knysna and the town's many well preserved historical buildings as well as its museums and art galleries are too well worth visiting.

Game parks, nature reserves and wildlife sanctuaries are plentiful in the area - including primate, wolf, elephant, bird, snake and wild cat sanctuaries. A host of wellness and beauty treatments are available from practitioners in Knysna. A local township tour is a must for those visitors wishing to get in touch with the vibrant local communities. A Puzzle Park, with its life size 3-D maze, Forest Puzzle Walk and Rope Maze will keep the whole family occupied.

Knysna is the perfect base for a fun-filled Garden Route experience.
