This historic building, once an old church, is full of character with its loft conversion and double volume living area. Set off the historic 'Artificers Square', the original heart of 1820 Settler Makhanda (Grahamstown), it is within easy walking distance of the city centre and Rhodes University. Entrance to this property is through large gates with paved driveway with ample secure parking.

Bartholomew's Loft offers guests 3 bedrooms, 1 king-size upstairs and two smaller twin rooms downstairs, a spacious open plan lounge/dining room/kitchen area. Bartholomew's Cottage provides additional accommodation in two spacious self-contained units.

The Courtyard Suite of Bartholomew's Cottage has a king size bedroom, en-suite bathroom with shower and a separate open plan kitchen/dining room. Both rooms open onto a private walled courtyard, the charming stone walls are a typical feature of 1820 Makhanda (Grahamstown) homes. Complete with water feature and small raised garden it gives the sense of an inner city sanctuary.

The Patio Suite of Bartholomew's Cottage has a bedroom with twin beds, an en-suite bathroom with a bath. The sunny open plan kitchen/living room opens up onto a small patio. The original wooden beams, old wooden floors and windows keep to the character of this historic building.

All linen and towels are supplied and the cottages are serviced daily. Each room has a heater and electric blankets for Makhanda (Grahamstown)'s chilly winter nights. Tea, coffee and rusks are provided, there is DStv and secure off street parking.
