Bloemhof Karoo is a historic home, once owned and loved by Professor Christiaan Barnard situated in Richmond. Take time to peruse our wonderful books, sit on the stoep for hours, gaze at the magnificent stars. Ideal for overnight stops for travellers en route from Johannesburg to the coast.

The guest house offers 4 comfortable rooms, 2 of which are family suites. Guests can relax in the drawing-room, with its well-stocked bar, leading onto a protected braai area as well as 3 dining rooms and a sunroom.

On-site facilities include a chapel, an erstwhile shed, built entirely from the locally hewn rock and ideal for intimate weddings. Guests can take a cooling dip in the farm dam-style swimming pool.

The guest house is renowned for its excellent Karoo kitchen and traditional specialties on offer. Full breakfast, lunch and 2- or 3-course dinners can be booked.
