Description
Burgherspost Wine Estate lies in the Darling wine region at the foot of the picturesque Dassenberg Hill.
Accommodation is provided in 2 semi-detached self-catering cottages set alongside the old historic manor house, with views of the conservation area, farm dams, vineyards and the distant mountains towards the east of the Swartland. The units are ideal for couples rather than a group of singles, as each unit has only a king-size bed. Each of the 2 units has an en-suite bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen, as well as a living area, dining area, a veranda with patio furniture, and free standing outside braai facilities.
The estate boasts a large conservation stewardship site which is home to more than 40 rare and endangered species of plants and several attractive wildflower species. Guests can enjoy a unique, complimentary farm nature drive through recovering fynbos and renosterveld, where they can view larger game such as springbok, ostrich, zebra and eland as well as an amazing variety of birds. As an alternative to the nature drives, guests can enjoy a guided walk on our new renosterveld and vineyard trail.
Burgherspost is located roughly 25 kilometers from either Darling or Malmesbury, and therefore offers a peaceful farm stay while still providing access to local attractions such as wine tasting at Cloof Wine Estate and the rest of the Darling wine route, craft beer tasting at Darling Brew, and regular shows by Pieter-Dirk Uys at Evita se Perron. West Coast National Park, Yzerfontein and even Langebaan are accessible as day visits from Burgherspost.
