Description
Situated in a secluded valley between 2 red sand dunes and hidden among ancient Camelthorn trees, lies Camelthorn Kalahari Lodge. The lodge comprises a thatched main building, a dining area, and a boma overlooking a natural stone pool.
Accommodation is offered in 12 rondavel-style thatched huts, sparsely set against a backdrop of red sand dunes, yellow grasses, piercing blue skies, and the greens and browns of the wide-spread Camelthorn and Acacia trees. Each room is fitted with comfortable beds and crisp white linen, and the San-inspired décor complements this stylish yet rustic style. Each room has an en-suite bathroom with a shower, and is equipped with air-conditioning, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Each rondavel also features a small stone patio from where guests can enjoy the view.
The lodge offers a restaurant, as well as a bar and lounge area, and an outdoor swimming pool, ideal for those hot summer days. Guests can also enjoy a braai in the boma. A complimentary breakfast is also offered. Guests can explore the Kalahari in open 4x4 vehicles, take guided walks with Bushman trackers and trained guides, or relax round the pool or in the refined lounge overlooking the waterhole.
