Chargo Game Reserve and Boutique Lodge is located on a game farm 30 km from Colesberg; the lodge combines warm South African hospitality, rivalled only by the fresh Karoo air. Set foot where your ancestors used to walk and take the fresh air of the karoo to heart, enjoying a once in a lifetime Game drive from an OpenView Land cruiser and a Room view you will not get anywhere else.

Luxurious accommodation is available in a variety of Deluxe Rooms furnished with antique pieces, each individually styled, and features a bathroom with great water pressure, fitted with either a shower or a bathtub. There is also a choice of family rooms, either accommodating 3 people or 5 people. Each room is equipped with a comfortable bed, covered in quality sheets, tea- and coffee-making facilities, bottled still water on arrival, and complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the building. Your stay is completed with a three-course dinner and full English breakfast, as well as a turn-down service.

Waking up to a morning view of the karoo “Vlaktes”, birds humming detailed songs and animals grazing past will give you a sense of peace no other Hotel room will ever give you. The original house on van Wyksfontein Farm was built in the early 18th Century and makes this a monument of South Africa’s history and the rich cultures who lived in this house over the past 200 years.
