Copperleigh Trout Cottages offers beautiful self-catering farm cottages, overlooking the calm waters of the 10-hectare trout stocked Mavela Dam which guests have free access to fly fish - no additional rod or catch fees. Situated on a working sheep and cattle farm in the picturesque upper Dargle area, the property is also close to the popular Midlands Meander of KwaZulu-Natal.
Accommodation comprises 2 well-equipped self-catering units including Copperleigh Trout Lodge, a family-sized double-story house, and Copperleigh Trout Cabin, a romantic log Cabin.
Copperleigh Trout Lodge can accommodate up to 6 adults and 3 children and comprises 3 bedrooms, all located upstairs. 2 bedrooms each feature a queen-size bed and are fitted with electric blankets and have ceiling fans and hairdryers. The master bedroom also has a single bed. The loft bedroom is suited for children or young adults as it is equipped with a queen-size bed and a bunk bed. There are also 2 bathrooms upstairs, each with a shower and toilet. Other facilities include a fully equipped self catering kitchen, open-plan lounge and dining room with a guest toilet available downstairs. There is a fireplace inside the unit with an outside fire pit and braai, complimentary Wi-Fi, DSTV Premium, board games, books, and toys for kids.
This unit also has a double garage.
Copperleigh Trout Cabin is a beautiful log cabin able to accommodate 2 adults. It has 1 bedroom furnished with a queen-size bed and fitted with an electric blanket. The doors in the bedroom lead out onto the verandah which is right on the water’s edge. The en-suite bathroom features a shower and a heated towel rail, complimentary soaps and shampoo. The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering. The open-plan lounge has a flat-screen TV with a DVD player and a large selection of movies, Android TV (DSTV Now, Showmax, Youtube etc), complimentary Wi-Fi. Complimentary housekeeping and firewood for the outside braai provided daily. There is a heater inside the unit, but no fireplace.
There is both Vodacom and MTN cellphone signal. Fishing rods may be rented on request. Paddles and some life jackets can be provided with the kayak, but guests are encouraged to bring their own as there are limited sizes.
Unfortunately no pets are allowed.
